Carefully following current advice St Philip’s Church has re-opened at specific times for private prayer and since Sunday 12th July 2020 for public worship in the church. We will continue to live stream our services online (see below)
 

St Philip’s is an Anglican Church. We have servers, robed choir and Chalice assistants at principal services. There is lay involvement in intercessions and readings on Sundays and principal feast days. St Philip’s caters for the spiritual needs and interest of all ages. We have a thriving Junior Church and an exciting programme of social events throughout the year.

St Philip’s has re-opened for private, individual prayer and for public worship in the church.

The PCC completed  risk-assessments and agreed controls to safely re-open at the following times:

Sundays: 9.30am to 10am for private prayer
Sundays: 8.30am BCP Holy Communion service in church & streamed
Sundays: 10am Holy Communion service in church & streamed
Sundays: 11am to 11.30am for private prayer
Wednesdays: 11am
Holy Communion service in church & streamed

We are pleased to welcome individuals to come into St Philip’s during these times. Measures have been put in place to protect the health and safety of everyone and these must be followed – there will be instructions and guidance available click HERE to read. There will be no singing and, therefore, no choir. Entrance is via the porch door only and exit via the vestry door. The PCC will keep arrangements under review and will respond prayerfully and carefully to changes in lockdown guidance from the Church of England and Government. We are planning The BCP service of Holy Communion on Sunday mornings at 8.30am will commence from Sunday 9th August 2020.

The APCM due to have been held on Sunday 26th April 2020 was postponed. It will be held before 31st October 2020 on a date to be announced .
The election of churchwardens and lay representatives to the Deanery Synod has also been deferred to take place before 31st October 2020.
These exceptional amendments to the Church Representation Rules are formalised in an Instrument from the Bishop of Southwark dated 23rd March 2020.
